Bridget Riley

"For me Nature is not landscape, but the dynamism of visual forces - an event rather than an appearance - these forces can only be tackled by treating color and form as ultimate identities, freeing them from all descriptive or functional roles." Bridget Riley.
Not very well known in France, one of her first retrospectives in Paris at the Musée des Arts Morderne, her works are exhibited here till the middle of September.
From her works, we can see that they are highly patternised and definitely fall under the genre of optical art (illunistic).
One of my personal favourites... if you are in Paris this summer be sure to have a look.
